The piece was created in the autumn of 2020 on the premises of Aki PopUp, Helsinki's hottest dining experience this season. All colors are made from ingredients used in Aki's kitchen, with a focus on ecology and waste materials. The colors have been made by Toni Toivanen and the painting has been made by Jaakko Mattila, adding a new pigment on a weekly basis. The work is a unique one of a kind piece and is signed on the back.
The nature of an artwork made with natural food-based pigments is that it will change over time. The lightfastness and other qualities that usually apply to paintings are uncertain in a unique piece like "Ympyrä Maalla".
Every day begins with a starting price that is set by the previous days' highest bid. The Highest bid of the day is registered at 8pm EET. If the highest bid is matched, the bid that was placed earlier that day is the highest bid. The highest bidder will be notified for verification each day of the Auction. The minimum bid is 500€ above the starting price of each day.
The Auction will end at 8pm EET on Wednesday the 16th of December. We will verify and notify the winning bidder shortly thereafter. Payment for the winning bid will be due on Monday the 21st of December 2020. By placing a bid you agree to pay the bidding price on schedule, in the event that you make the winning bid of the entire auction.
The Auction is organised on the ThePlatform.pro in collaboration with Hurstin Apu ry. All proceeds from the Auction will go directly to Hurstin Apu ry for charitable purposes. The Charity Auction has been coordinated by Chef Toni Toivanen, Artist Jaakko Mattila, and ThePlatform.pro, with the support of Espa Downstairs and Financier Group.
